Slayers 2 Evil Arts Tier List: Best Blood Demon Arts Ranked (V0.22)
If you just became a Demon and burned five spins at Muzan's altar, you need to know which power is actually worth building around. This Slayers 2 evil arts tier list breaks down all nine Blood Demon Arts by their real strengths in PvE and Ranked PvP, based on the V0.2 balance pass that changed eight of the nine Arts at once.
The short version: Pyrokinesis now sits at the top of the overall rankings, Shockwave remains the best reactive counter pick, and Tamari jumped from B to A tier thanks to a massive PvE damage buff. Below you'll find the full rankings, the reasoning behind each placement, and the practical details — unlock costs, weapon requirements, and reset prices — that most tier lists skip.

One thing before you dive in: the old Project Slayers rankings do not carry over. Slayers 2 reworked the movesets and the combat system, so a familiar Art name does not guarantee familiar performance.
Full Slayers 2 Evil Arts Tier List
Here is the complete ranking for the current V0.22 build. Placements combine community testing, published tier lists, and the patch notes for the V0.2 balance pass.
| Tier | Blood Demon Art | Best For | Key Strength |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Pyrokinesis | Overall / Group bossing | Reliable recovery, confirmed V stun |
| S | Shockwave | Reactive PvP | Counter breaks hyper armor |
| S | Obi Manipulation | Mixup PvP | Guard breaks and utility fixes |
| A | Dream Manipulation | PvP combos | Strong stuns and a top-tier grab |
| A | Ice Manipulation | AoE control | Ultimate guard breaks on every hit |
| A | Reaper | Mobile melee | Fast moves, huge combo options |
| A | Tamari | Ranged bossing | 40% more Z and X damage vs. NPCs |
| A | Arrow | Ranged control | Stun-usable Koketsu Arrow reversal |
| B | Blood Manipulation | Group PvE | Barrage damage with Sickles |
A quick note on how these placements work. An Art earns a high rank when its attacks are easy to confirm, hard to punish, and useful at multiple ranges — not when it has the biggest single number. A gigantic finisher that everyone sees coming is worth less than a quick catch that starts a combo.
Why Pyrokinesis Took the Top Spot
Pyrokinesis (formerly called Explosive Blood) got exactly the kind of buff that moves an Art up a tier. Its Blood Tiles move lost 0.3 seconds of endlag, and the opening punch on V now stuns for 2.5 seconds while confirming the heel slam follow-up. Blocking no longer lets opponents escape the C move after it catches them.
The trade-offs are real — X block damage dropped from 4 to 2.8, and C no longer stacks with other hits — but the kit is simply more consistent now. Consistency is what wins fights, and that is why Pyrokinesis leads the overall rankings. For group bossing, it is the broad recommendation, especially if you pair it with a clan that supports sustained damage.
Shockwave: The Counter Pick That Punishes Everything
Shockwave is the Art you pick when you want to win by reacting instead of initiating. Its counter breaks hyper armor, which means it shuts down the exact moves that most players rely on to trade safely. The ranged conversion off a strict stun confirm is excellent, and it pairs naturally with Soryu's all-hyper-armor moveset.
The catch is the cooldown. Shockwave's X sits at 16 seconds in Ranked, and V0.2 gave every counter in the game a longer windup. That means you cannot spam this as a panic button — it rewards deliberate reads. If you like baiting a move and punishing it, Shockwave is your Art. If you mash counters, you will get punished hard.
Obi Manipulation: The Skill-Ceiling Pick
Obi Manipulation completing S tier surprises people who remember it as a niche pick. The buffs added damage increases, guard breaks, and utility fixes that turned it into a legitimate mixup toolkit. It has a lot of combo routes that require practice, but the payoff is real.
Be honest about the trade-off, though: Obi is a PvP specialist. It struggles badly in PvE content, and if your main goal is farming dungeons or melting bosses, this is not the Art for you. Rank it S for dueling, and much lower if you mostly run PvE.
Best Evil Arts for PvE
PvE in Slayers 2 rewards different things than dueling. You want AoE for dungeons, sustained barrage damage that lets your party stack M1s, and boss-killing burst. Here is how the Arts shake out for PvE specifically.
| Art | PvE Tier | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Pyrokinesis | S | Broad recommendation, strong all-around kit |
| Tamari | S | 40% more Z and X damage vs. NPCs and bosses |
| Ice Manipulation | S | Ultimate guard breaks on every hit |
| Blood Manipulation | A | Barrage DPS stacks with ally M1s |
| Reaper | A | Great in groups, weaker solo |
| Arrow | B | Solid boss killer, no AoE for dungeons |
| Dream Manipulation | B | Built for PvP, improving slowly in PvE |
Tamari Is the New Bossing Specialist
The headline PvE change in V0.2 is Tamari. Its Z and X moves now deal 40% more damage against NPCs and bosses, which pushed it from B to A tier in most published rankings and makes it one of the strongest dedicated bossing picks in the game. If you have Susumaru, the synergy gets even better.
The downside is dungeon crowds. Tamari has no real AoE, so it struggles when you are surrounded. In Ranked, its Z and C cooldowns also stretch to 16 and 18 seconds. Treat it as a specialist, not a universal pick.
Ice Manipulation Still Owns Dungeons
Ice Manipulation remains the broad AoE option. Every hit of its ultimate breaks NPC and boss guards again in PvE, and its ice rain can stack with your basic attacks. The grab is one of the best in the game, and the frame-one counter gives you a defensive option when things go wrong.
Ranked did trim its wings — X knockdown dropped from 3 to 1.95 seconds, the first icicle appears 0.2 seconds later, and C lost some scaling and block damage. But for PvE, Ice is still an S-tier controller with some of the best AoE ranges available.
Blood Manipulation Needs Sickles
Blood Manipulation is the best PvE Blood Demon Art for group play. Nearly every move works like a barrage, so allies can stack M1s on top of your damage for excellent combined DPS. V0.2 also restored the X finisher guardbreak against NPCs.
The catch: Blood Manipulation requires a weapon. Plain Sickles drop from Hoyuzo, and Blood Sickles drop from Gyutai at roughly 7%. Plan the weapon grind alongside the Art, because a fresh unlock without Sickles is not the same build.
Best Evil Arts for PvP
Ranked PvP adds 20 seconds to every Blood Demon Art ultimate, halves refinement bonuses, and removes automatic out-of-combat health regeneration. Several Arts also get Ranked-only cooldown or knockdown changes. That shifts the rankings compared to general play.
| Art | PvP Tier | Playstyle Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Shockwave | S | Reactive aggression, counter-heavy |
| Obi Manipulation | S | Mixups and guard-break pressure |
| Dream Manipulation | A | Stun-based combo starters |
| Ice Manipulation | A | Control and spacing |
| Reaper | A | Mobile melee pressure |
| Arrow | A | Zoning and ranged control |
| Tamari | A | Long-range single-target zoning |
| Blood Manipulation | B | Niche, needs a team |
Dream Manipulation Leads A Tier
Dream got a 20% ultimate damage buff in every mode, which moved it to the front of A tier. It is built around stuns and a strong grab that creates some of the best PvP combos in the game.
Ranked keeps it in check, though. C's cooldown rose from 14 to 16 seconds, and X's final explosion now deals 4 block damage instead of automatically breaking guard. Dream is excellent, but it is not quite S tier in the current meta.
Arrow and Reaper Round Out the A Tier
Arrow remains the broadest ranged pick. The big quality-of-life change is that you can now use Koketsu Arrow while stunned, which is an incredible defensive reversal. Its zoning potential is top-tier, though its Z and C cooldowns rose to 13 and 15 seconds in Ranked.
Reaper is the mobile melee option. It has a ton of fast combo tools, and its Blood Demon Art works correctly with Reaping Blades, which is a Demon-only fighting style. V0.2 also raised Sonido Surge's damage by 20% and cut its finisher ragdoll from 2.5 to 1.5 seconds. The Art itself was untouched, but its intended build got stronger.
How to Unlock Evil Arts in Slayers 2
There are two routes to a Blood Demon Art, and one of them is much more reliable than the other.
| Method | Cost / Chance | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Muzan roll | 5 spins | Can return no Art at all |
| Named Evil Art Orb (Ice, Rare, Sealed, World Event chests) | 2% drop chance | Crush in the same session |
| Named Evil Art Orb (Common, Lost chests) | 1% drop chance | Disappears if you rejoin |
| Evil Art reset | 7 Ore or 100 Robux | 80 Robux with Roblox Plus |
Start Muzan's Demon questline at -40 reputation, then use the Biwa Bell to return to his lair and ask for power. If you go the orb route, claim and crush the orb in the same session — it vanishes when you rejoin. After unlocking, you still need to finish the Art's core training and buy its moves through the Skill Tree.
Every Art's ultimate comes from a matching boss drop rather than mastery alone, so a fresh unlock and a fully built Art should not be judged the same way. If you want to dig into the broader combat systems, the official Roblox platform page is a good starting point for the game itself.
Resetting and Swapping Arts
If you regret your pick, an Evil Art reset costs 7 Ore or 100 Robux (80 Robux with Roblox Plus). Resetting or swapping refunds your Art's skill-tree points, and any previously lost points return the next time you join. Mastery retention is still listed as TBA, so check the current in-game prompt before you commit to a swap.
Common Mistakes When Picking an Evil Art
A few traps catch new Demons over and over, according to player experience and community reports.
- Judging by lore or visuals. Rarity, spectacle, and unlock difficulty do not earn ranking points. A flashy Art with slow startups will lose to a plain Art with fast confirms.
- Ignoring your content type. Obi Manipulation is S tier in PvP and near the bottom in PvE. Tamari is the opposite. Pick for what you actually play.
- Forgetting the weapon requirement. Blood Manipulation without Sickles is a half-finished build.
- Overrating hyper armor. Hyper armor resists interruption during its active window, but you still take damage. Shockwave's counter breaks it outright.
- Spamming counters. V0.2 gave every counter a longer windup and put them all on a shared cooldown. Missed counters create huge punish windows.
The safest approach is to pick one Art for your main content type, unlock its essential attacks first, and budget skill points for stamina, health, and movement. A rotation that leaves you with no resources to defend is a bad trade even when it lands.
Final Thoughts: Which Evil Art Should You Pick?
For most players, the answer in the current meta is simple. Pick Pyrokinesis if you want the best overall Art that performs everywhere. Pick Shockwave if you love counterplay and want to punish hyper-armor spam. Pick Tamari or Ice Manipulation if bossing and dungeons are your focus.
If you are chasing pure dueling power, Obi Manipulation and Dream Manipulation reward the practice you put in. And if you already have Sickles sitting in your inventory, Blood Manipulation is a fantastic group PvE pick that most tier lists undersell.
Whatever you choose, remember that these rankings shift with every balance pass. V0.2 alone reshuffled eight of the nine Arts, so check back after the next patch before you spend your Ore on a reset.
