Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts Tier List — Best BDA Ranked

Our Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts tier list ranks every BDA for PvE and PvP after the V0.2 balance patch, plus how to unlock and reset each Art.

If you just rolled a Blood Demon Art in Slayers 2, you're probably wondering whether it's actually good or a waste of five spins. The V0.2 balance patch shuffled almost everything, so old Project Slayers rankings mean nothing now. This Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts tier list breaks down all nine BDAs for PvE and PvP, explains what changed in the patch, and shows you which Arts are worth building around in October 2026.

Whether you're grinding bosses for ultimate drops or dueling in Ranked, the gap between a top-tier Art and a mid-tier one is huge. Pyrokinesis now leads the pack overall, but the "best" pick depends heavily on how you play.

How We Rank Blood Demon Arts in Slayers 2

A Demon Art isn't good just because it hits hard on a training dummy. The ranking criteria here focus on how reliably each Art creates damage windows — a move that consistently catches opponents or starts combos beats a flashy finisher that never lands.

Here's what goes into each placement:

  • Consistency — how hard the Art is to use effectively
  • Damage and burst potential — raw numbers plus how easy they are to confirm
  • Combo starters and extensions — can your moves chain into each other?
  • Mobility and gap-closing — dashes, teleports, and approach tools
  • Utility — stuns, freezes, knockdowns, counters, and grabs
  • AoE and crowd performance — critical for Dungeons
  • Boss performance — single-target DPS matters for raids
  • Cooldowns and resource efficiency — especially in Ranked
  • Risk versus reward — punish windows on whiffed moves

One important note: PvP and PvE don't always agree. A barrage Art that lets your whole party keep attacking can be S-tier in PvE while being mediocre in a duel. Ranked also adds 20 seconds to every BDA ultimate, halves refinement bonuses, and removes out-of-combat health regen — so cooldown-heavy Arts feel very different there.

S-Tier Breakdown

Pyrokinesis (formerly called Explosive Blood) took the overall top spot after V0.2. Blood Tiles lost 0.3 seconds of endlag, V's opening punch stuns for 2.5 seconds and now confirms the heel slam, and blocking no longer escapes C once it catches. X block damage dropped from 4 to 2.8 and C can't stack with other hits anymore, but the kit is far more reliable overall. Recovery and V confirm work in every mode, which is why it's the broad recommendation.

Shockwave remains the reactive-aggression king. Its counter breaks hyper armor, and the strict stun confirms the ranged conversion. The catch is the longer universal counter windup and a 16-second Ranked X cooldown — you need deliberate reads, not panic activation. Combined with Soryu's all-hyper-armor moveset, it's one of the strongest duel kits in the game.

Obi Manipulation rounds out S-tier as a niche PvP toolkit. It got damage increases, guard breaks, and utility fixes, and its mixup-heavy combos reward practice. Be warned: it's genuinely bad in PvE, so don't build it if you mainly grind Dungeons.

A-Tier Breakdown

Dream Manipulation leads A-tier after its ultimate gained 20% more damage in every mode. In Ranked, C's cooldown rises from 14 to 16 seconds and X's final explosion deals 4 block damage instead of auto-breaking guard. It's still built around stuns and a strong grab for some of the best PvP combos available.

Ice Manipulation (Cryokinesis) is the broad AoE controller. Every ultimate hit breaks NPC and boss guards again in PvE, but Ranked nerfs hit hard: X knockdown falls from 3 to 1.95 seconds, Z's first icicle appears 0.2 seconds later, and C loses scaling and block damage.

Reaper is the mobile melee pick. It works correctly with Reaping Blades (Demon-only, matching the Art's race requirement), Cross Reaver keeps targets pinned, and V0.2 raised Sonido Surge's Fighting Style damage by 20%.

Tamari (Temari) jumped from B to A thanks to 40% more Z and X damage against NPCs and bosses. In Ranked, Z and C cooldowns rise to 16 and 18 seconds, so it stays a specialist rather than a universal pick.

Arrow is the broader ranged option. Koketsu Arrow can be used while stunned, which is an excellent defensive reversal, and Arrow Flight keeps its 35% PvE bonus. Ranked pushes Z and C cooldowns to 13 and 15 seconds.

B-Tier: Blood Manipulation

Blood Manipulation sits alone in B despite regaining its X finisher guardbreak against NPCs. Nearly every move works like a barrage, so allies can stack M1s on top for excellent group DPS — but it needs Sickles to function (plain Sickles drop from Hoyuzo, Blood Sickles from Gyutai at 7%). Other S/A Arts have faster moves, and Blood's solo PvE and PvP value is limited.

PvE vs PvP: Which Demon Art Should You Pick?

The right Art depends entirely on your goals. Here's a quick comparison of the standout picks by activity.

ActivityBest PickRunner-UpWhy
Dungeon AoEIce ManipulationPyrokinesisBest AoE ranges, ultimate guardbreaks
Boss rushing (solo)PyrokinesisTamariReliable confirms, high single-target
Group bossingPyrokinesisBlood ManipulationBarrages let allies stack M1s

Community reports suggest Ice remains the safest all-rounder for players who split time between modes, while Shockwave rewards players who learn matchup timings. If you only care about clearing Dungeons fast, Ice and Pyrokinesis are the practical choices.

What Changed in the V0.2 Balance Patch

The V0.2 pass touched eight of the nine Blood Demon Arts, with separate PvE and Ranked adjustments layered on top of universal changes. If you're returning after a break, these are the headlines:

  • Pyrokinesis moved ahead of Shockwave as the best overall Art
  • Dream took the front of A-tier after a 20% ultimate damage buff
  • Tamari rose from B to A with 40% more Z/X damage vs NPCs and bosses
  • Blood Manipulation stayed B despite regaining an NPC X guardbreak
  • Cryokinesis regained guardbreaks on every ultimate hit in PvE
  • Arrow saw Ranked cooldowns lengthen to 13s (Z) and 15s (C)
  • Obi Manipulation received damage, guard break, and utility buffs
  • Reaper itself was unchanged, but its paired Fighting Style got stronger

V0.21 and V0.22 did not add further Demon Art balance changes, so this list should hold until the next major patch.

Ranked-Specific Rules to Remember

Ranked mode isn't just PvP with a different label. Skill cooldowns are global, every counter shares one cooldown, and V0.2 gave every counter a longer windup. Missed counters and ultimates create much larger punish windows than in general PvE. If your build relies on spamming counters, Ranked will punish you for it.

How to Unlock and Reset Blood Demon Arts

Getting a BDA isn't complicated, but it is luck-dependent. Here's the process:

StepRequirementDetails
1Reach -40 reputationStarts Muzan's Demon questline
2Use the Biwa BellReturns you to Muzan's lair
3Ask Muzan for powerCosts 5 spins; can return no Art
4Alternative: Evil Art Orb2% from Ice/Rare/Sealed/World Event chests, 1% from Common/Lost
5Complete core trainingUnlocks the Art's skill tree
6Buy movesSpend skill points in the Skill Tree

A critical tip from the source: claim and crush a chest orb in the same session — it disappears when you rejoin. Also note that every Art's ultimate comes from a matching boss drop rather than mastery alone, so a fresh unlock and a fully built Art play very differently.

If you want to switch, an Evil Art reset costs 7 Ore or 100 Robux (80 Robux with Roblox Plus). Resetting or swapping refunds your Art skill-tree points, and previously lost points return when you rejoin. Mastery retention is still TBA, so check the current prompt before committing.

Tips for Building Around Your Demon Art

  • Don't judge an Art on a fresh unlock. Ultimate moves come from boss drops, and skill-tree passives change a kit's feel dramatically.
  • Match your clan to your Art. Clan actives and passives contribute to build recommendations, though they stay separate from the Art's own ranking.
  • Budget stamina, health, and movement. A rotation that leaves nothing to defend is a bad trade when it misses.
  • On mobile or console, tune your controls first — especially for ranged Arts like Arrow and Tamari. Mobile dashes forward rather than directionally, so spacing differs from PC.
  • Check the weapon half of your setup too. Reaper wants Reaping Blades; Blood Manipulation wants Sickles.
